Quartino March ‘Monthly Wine Bash’ Features Vini Wines

Picture this: it’s Wednesday night and you want to get your wine on. What’s an amateur oenophile to do? Head to Quartino, known for its sprawling dining room, thin crust pizzas and Italian small plates, which include a variety of fresh pastas and salads.

Though you can’t go wrong in their dining room, Quartino hosts a Monthly Wine Bash on the last Wednesday of every month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Monthly Wine Bash showcases wine from a particular region or in a particular style and gives Chicagoans a chance to taste select wines for only $20. The evening includes a wine tasting, paired menu samplings like Quartino’s Signature Pizza, Italian Meats and Cheeses and more.

On Wednesday, March 28 the Wine Bash will feature an array of Northern Bulgarian wines from VINI Winesproduced in the Danube River Plains. The tasting will include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot samples. Executive Chef John Coletta will develop a menu that pairs alongside the wines.

Fare at the event will include seasonal specialties like grilled zucchini with sun-dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, beet and walnut salad along with passed assorted Neapolitan pizze, bruschetta and Italian cured meats and assorted olives.

And if you think it couldn’t get any better?  Guests are invited to take home a bottle of the featured wines for only $10 per bottle.

So let’s recap: that’s $30 for two hours of wine tasting, delicious eats and a great bottle of wine. Register at the door beginning at 6:30; cost of entry is $20 per person.

Quartino Ristorante, Pizzeria & Wine Bar, 626 N. State Street. For more information call 312.698.5000 or visit Quartino at www.quartinochicago.com or Facebook or Twitter.
