Chicago Author’s ‘Growing Through Arts’ Interactive Storybooks Inspire Children to Love Reading

Children who love reading and music in equal measures will be especially excited to learn that Growing Through Arts, a company that creates and markets educational children’s books and toys, announces the launch of The Music Series, its second series of educational books, toys and accessories to complement its existing Ballet Series.

The Music Series includes three storybooks: The Peter and the Wolf Symphony by Aleksandra, The Snow Maiden Opera by Aleksandra, and Twist, A Musical by Aleksandra.  Each illustrated storybook tells a familiar tale with a modern twist to help parents teach their children valuable moral lessons.

“The teaching moments throughout the books help children and parents engage in a thoughtful dialogue on character building principles, and are a great way to provoke positive thinking and teach valuable moral lessons in a fun and creative way,” said author and company founder Aleksandra Efimova.

The books are designed for children ages 2 to 6 but could easily be enjoyed by older children with active imaginations. For parents who are interested in using the books as impetus for cultural teaching moments, each book contains a glossary of terms that will excite children about exploring music classes, the opera and the symphony.

The author, a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, is passionate about sharing access to and enjoyment of the arts, as well as helping to build bridges among people of different cultures.

The Series also features the Music Series Alphabet Set, where each letter is illustrated to depict a music vocabulary word referenced in the storybooks. The Alphabet Set is made out of bendable material that can stick to any surface without leaving a sticky residue. Children can stick the characters to the car, to windows, wood, play boards, and tables for entertainment on-the-go.

Each book in the Music Series also includes Stage Scene Sets that come with bendable characters that children can stick to the stage to re-create scenes from the storybooks. These sets are a great way to spark imagination and creativity by recreating scenes from the storybooks, as well as to develop hand-eye coordination and strengthen motor skills.

Growing Through Arts products can be purchased online at www.growingthrougharts.com and www.amazon.com. The Music Series will be available to customers in April, 2012 on www.growingthrougharts.com and at nearly 100 retail outlets throughout the country.
