Blowtique: Chicago’s Blow-Dry Boutique Keeps Chicago Stylish

BY MARIS CALLAHAN

I love my hair stylist, but I hate that I can never make my hair look as good as she can.  Though my morning hair drying routine typically takes no longer than the average commercial break during The Today Show, it’s usually evident by about 4:00 p.m. when I have my hair in a messy ponytail or pulled back with clips of some sort that probably reached their peak style sometime in 2002.

Ladies, if you’re tired of waiting until your next hair cut or color to get a blow-out that will make you feel as fabulous as you are,  Blowtique, Chicago’s newest blowdry-only salon in River North introduces Chicagoans to the idea that a blow-out can be as convenient as a manicure, for only $35.

Artistic director for the salon Rhona Kane and owner Fiona McEntee are considering opening additional locations to make hair styling accessible and affordable for patrons throughout Chicagoland. Salon clients can get any look ranging from big-body curls to a sleek high gloss that can last up to a week.

Stylists at Blowtique will go above and beyond simply drying your hair. Each blow-out includes a shampoo/ conditioner treatment and flatiron or curling, if necessary. Stylists create the perfect look for any occasion, including a popular classic, smooth style dubbed “The Magnificent” for the Magnificent Mile.  If you’re pressed for time before a big event, each blowout promises to take just 35 minutes.

In line with the famous-street-name theme, Blowtique gives a nod to New York’s 5th Avenue’s with a straight, high-gloss style and to Sunset Boulevard, a tousled wavy look.

The venue accepts walk-in appointments, perfect for the on-the-go girl or as a prelude to a fun night out with the girlfriends.
