Imagine frozen custard mixed with a cupcake, frosting and all, then topped with sprinkles. Some people may find that weird…or maybe even a little gross, but I consider it to be dessert heaven. Lickity Split Frozen Custard & Sweets offers rich, tasty sundaes, shakes, coffee, pastries and candies, as well as concrete mixers – custard blended with dessert toppings.
To serve the best desserts, Lickity Split chooses its local business partners carefully. Phoebe’s Cupcakes, made by classically trained pastry chefs, are available in rich flavors like Red Velvet, Mint Chocolate Chip, Key Lime Pie and Salted Caramel (which is my own personal favorite). Celestial Kitchens and Sweet Attila’s both provide cookies, scones and other pastries. Lastly, Lickity Split proudly serves Metropolis coffee, a fair-trade coffee purveyor that has won numerous awards for it’s best-selling beans.
The Crazy Cake is a concrete mixer that combines any frozen custard flavor with any cupcake variety. Since there are always several cupcake flavors available, it’s easy to feel indecisive about your decision. Since I have been here more than once, I have tried several combinations, including vanilla custard with a red velvet cupcake and chocolate custard with a peanut butter cupcake.
If you’re looking for another to-die-for concrete mixer, The OMG is perfect for chocolate lovers: vanilla or chocolate custard mixed with a peanut butter fudge brownie, a shot of hot fudge and chopped pecans.
If you are in the mood for a sundae, shake or malt, there are plenty of options on the including the Scarlet’s Last Fall sundae: a red velvet cake bowl is topped with vanilla custard, marshmallow, raspberries and whipped cream. Lickity Split also has every topping you can think of to complete your dessert – crushed ice cream cone, marshmallow creme, coconut and gummy bears.
Once you are done eating your concrete mixer, shake or sundae, don’t be shy if you’re still craving more. Lickity Split offers a variety of seasonal pastries and candies from local partners that make excellent gifts for friends…or for a never-ending sweet tooth.
