Have you ever looked into your closet full of clothes and thought: “I have nothing to wear?” I have, more times than I can count, which is probably why I often end up wearing the same outfits time and time again. Have you ever wished, while getting dressed for work in the morning, that there was someone who could tell you what to wear, how to wear it and what you should buy to accentuate the wardrobe you already have?

That’s where Shopping Girl XOXO comes in. Lora LaPratt is a personal shopper and stylist for clients nationwide, with close connections to department stores and “hidden gem” boutiques to create a valuable and unique experience with each client. Along with wardrobe analysis, shopping lessons/sessions and specialty garment/gift purchases, LaPratt offers a unique ‘Boutique Hop’ service for girls’ nights, bridal showers and bachelorette parties in which she leads groups of women on shopping tours through some of Chicago’s best indie boutiques.

“I like to take my clients to boutiques that have an eclectic flair, highlight local designers and carry pieces that will separate them from the rest of Chicago when walking down the street,” LaPratt said. “A few of my favorite boutiques to work with are Hubba-Hubba, Strut, Bazar, and Moi.”

LaPratt has always been passionate about fashion and from an early age family and friends would comment on how she had a “knack” for figuring out what clothing different types of people would look best in to accentuate their positive attributes while bringing out their own personality. After years of providing friends and family with ad-hoc wardrobe support, she decided to pursue a degree in fashion merchandising and shortly after, founded Shopping Girl XOXO.

While wardrobe analysis and shopping lessons are some of LaPratt’s most popular services, she enjoys creating flattering and fashionable new wardrobes from existing closets or fantastic new boutiques under any circumstances.

“I love what I do,” LaPratt said. “It is an amazing feeling to wake up each morning knowing that I am going to enrich my client’s life while having so much fun.”
